A Weekend in Granada

Last weekend I did a lot of fun things in Granada (in between studying for midterm exams). The students in my study abroad program went to a soccer game - Granada vs. Marbella. I enjoyed it a lot. However, the final score was tied 0-0 so we didn't get to hear "GGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLLL!!!!!" Maybe next time...

Some friends and I went to Parque García Lorca to have a picnic. It's a really beautiful park, and it's where Federico García Lorca's house is. I wasn't able to tour the house that day, but I plan to make my way back there.

My roommate and I made a friend in our dorm, Ahmed, who has been awesome with introducing us to other Spaniards and inviting us out to do things. We went to a popular lookout spot where there are great views of the Alhambra and the city. I had been to this lookout during the day, but at night it was even more beautiful.

On our walk home we came across a donkey, alone, tied to a lamp post. I'm pretty sure he's the donkey that they use at one of the downtown bars to carry the person who drinks the most to the discotech in Sacromonte towards the end of the night. I've never seen it, but I've heard it's a pretty exciting event.

I love reading your blog and your pictures. The donkey picture and the dog tied to the motercycle are great! When you do go back to Lorca's house take lots of pictures Chris would really like to see them. I'm looking forward to morocco blog posts.
